This is perfect if you think you might want to convert your space into a Granny Flat in the future. A Class 10A structure is non-habitable, but engineered to the same basic standard as a 1A structure, so you can upgrade it later on if you choose (STCA).
Affordable and Easy
You will love our price-conscious range, which are built in modules to save you time and money. Your approval will also be fast-tracked as our workshops qualify as a Complying Development (contact us for your state/territory regulations).

What is the difference between an Aarons Studio and an Aarons Workshop?
An Aarons Workshop has been engineered to meet tough council guidelines and is permissible as a Class 10a structure. Our Studios on the other hand will not pass a permit application and are only appropriate in council areas where a permit is not required. Please refer to your council guidelines. See our Permits Information page for more.
Are Workshops Insulated?
Yes. We use sisalation paper insulate on the inside of our walls and roofs to help regulate moisture, reduce summer heat and winter cold. Workshops do not include full insulation bats, however the stud walls are the correct depth to add this.
My property is unlevel, does that matter?
The posts are supplied at 600mm and are able to accommodate a fall of up to 400mm. However, we can provide posts to the extreme length of 2450mm to accommodate any amount of fall.

Aarons Workshops have been designed in-house to meet market demand for those needing a solution to their need for extra space. Manufactured and engineered to meet council and building regulations, our Workshops qualify for a Class 10A Building Permit. Our Workshops serve a range of purposes including extra storage, backyard rooms & timber workshops. They come in a large range of standard sizes and you can personalise your Workshop with a variety of options and window/door locations. Extend your living areas and increase your property’s value and versatility with Workshops range.
If you require a 1A habitable dwelling for your teenager or other family member, it is possible to upgrade our Workshop range at the design and installation stage. At your request, we can have the drawings upgraded to accommodate a 1A structure (extra charges apply). We then build your Workshop to lock-up stage ready for you to fit out afterwards. This offers a more affordable alternative than a Granny Flat, whilst maintaining the same modern features. Contact Aarons Outdoor in your area for more information.
Currently, in NSW and ACT, we do not offer Workshops or Granny Flats. Regulations state that you can have a structure in your backyard under 20m2 without a Permit, so if you live in NSW/ACT and are looking for a simpler, even more affordable space solution, view our Studio range.
